Let’s Co-Create A Singapore For All Singaporeans

Dear Fellow Singaporeans,

These are very turbulent days.

The gig economy has brought about a tremendous amount of disruption to Singaporean jobs and our livelihoods; there is a new world order in global geopolitics; terrorism and radicalization continue to be a global scourge and rather unfortunately, a family dispute which has unfortunately tarnished Singapore’s brand name has also distracted many from our routines and lives.

Wealth and social inequality continue to tear at the fabric of society and will only cause further economic and social strain on our lives.

Indeed, these are tumultuous times for Singapore, and we will continue to face many more challenges in the days, months and years to come.

Jobs for ourselves but more importantly for our children, the rising costs of living and essential services, affordable homes, the reliability of our public transport systems and many more issues continue to play on the minds of our fellow Singaporeans.

As we celebrate Singapore’s 52nd birthday together, there are some key and very important questions we must ask ourselves, our families, our neighbours and our friends: What is the Singapore we wish to see in future? How do we help our children fulfill their dreams and aspirations? How do we plan ahead for a Singapore which our grandchildren will be proud to call their home, and fight to defend? What kind of support systems do we need in place to help the less fortunate and less abled in society?

These are never easy questions to answer. In a post-LKY era, we need to stand together and face the future with determination and with confidence. The time has come to look forward.

As a nation, we need to continue asking the right questions so that we fiercely debate and put forward the best ideas to ensure that Singapore is governed through new, and bold initiatives. No existing policy should be sacrosanct, and we should endeavor to leave no stone unturned as we co-create a future together in which we are all proud of a “Singapore for all Singaporeans”.

Additionally and especially in these uncertain times, it is necessary for us to band together, as one united people. Regardless of race, language and religion.

As a Party which was built around the fundamental tenets of keeping the welfare of Singaporeans central to what we do, we will continue to be there for you, to support you, to the best of our ability.

Service Before Self, For the Nation and for the People.

Happy National Day and Majulah Singapura.
